Bday in Desaru Day 2-3: Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast

DAY 2

We woke up early for buffet breakfast at The Mesh Restaurant at Level 1.

Drinks counter
Love the teh tarik and cheese
Salad made with vegetables from local farms! Very fresh!
Choose your ingredients to make your soup
Bread and pastries
Food from the buffet table
Freshly made roti canai (prata)! Yum 😋

After breakfast, we packed our swim stuff and headed to Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast. I can't believe that we've never visited, despite visiting Desaru sooooo many times!

Desaru Coast
Parked our Wonka the Hyptec at the big open carpark with very little shade (left);
We bought our tickets on Klook but had to physically collect them at the counters. That's when we found out that the Lazy River, The Tempest and Riptide were closed for maintenance! 😮‍💨😓
Entrance to the waterpark

We arrived at the park at 10.30am, which was early enough and there wasn't a lot of people. After changing into our swimwear, we headed straight to the Lil Warriors' Hideout, where we spent most of our time!

Slides for all ages!
Fun playground for both adults and kids
One of our favourite slides
Littlest loved the 'baby' slides as well

After sliding down the slides for the umpteenth time, we walked to the west-side of the waterpark to see what's out there.

The highlight of the waterpark was their largest water roller coaster!
It's too bad that no one wanted to ride it with me! 😅
More slides that we didn't ride because the staff didn't allow us to bring our phones (which were slung around our necks)

With the Lazy River and other major rides closed, there was really nothing much to do! We discovered a nice area for giant games and played giant Snakes and Ladders instead! It was really fun!

There was no dice so we used a virtual one in the Hubby's phone

We walked back to the kids play areas to chill while the kids continued their play.

My only decent family photo

We also spent time in the Tidal Wave Beach, where the waves came very infrequently.

Our caps came in handy as it was too hot!

You can see Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast from here and there was a special entrance for hotel guests. Despite the accessibility to the park, we chose not to stay there as we had already done so previously.

It started to get very crowded at around 2pm so we left at around 2.30pm, after spending 4 hours at park. We survived on snacks I had brought so we were famished by the time we had lunch at Harboufront Seafood.

Parked our Wonka right outside!
Lobster tank
Our yummy lunch! 😋
Of course we had to order lobsters in Desaru!!
Super fresh fish that my Littlest loved!

I've got a pretty good relationship with one of the owners of Desaru Fruit Farm, having been a regular customer since 2015. We order and have pure honey delivered to our home every 4-6 months, even during the pandemic. We also love their fresh fruits, which are such a treat!

We always pop by the farm whenever we were in Desaru and this was no exception. Lucky for us, it was mango season so we bought half a dozen super beautiful and sweet mangoes to bring home (for the Eldest and me)! 🥭😋

Love the fruits at Desaru Fruit Farm

Since we had a sumptuous late lunch, we decided to have a simple dinner in our hotel room (I had fruits for dinner 😁). In the evening, I searched for a massage place and tried Desaru Spa and Reflexology just down the road from our hotel. As my Littlest wanted to stick with me, the spa kindly allowed her to remain in the room with me.

The huge lounge chair can be converted into a bed for massage

I chose the basic 60-minute massage since I didn't want the Littlest to wait too long. I can't remember the price but it was reasonable. The massage was good and I enjoyed it!

With my body relaxed, I enjoyed a good sleep that night! 😁

DAY 3

We woke up for buffet breakfast as we had done the day before.

Super hungry, can't wait to dig into the food!
The Boy is a big fan of half-boiled eggs and loves that they served it free flow!
He probably ate way too many 😅
I was a fan of their cereal bar, though I only took my favourite Koko Krunch 😁

After breakfast, I brought the kids for a morning swim while the Hubby found a charging station nearby to 'recharge' our Wonka. He finally found a working charger that's not being used!

Wonka was fully 'recharged'! 🫢
My kids and I really love to swim 😁

After checking out from the hotel, we had some fried chicken at Ahmad's for lunch (while taking away the rest for later).

There was only one Ahmad's in Desaru to our knowledge
Enjoying our fried chicken

We drove to Sutera Mall and shopped around before having an early dinner at Jordan Hong Kong Restaurant.

We ordered wanton noodles of course
Char siew noodles

Food was ok but I purposefully didn't eat a full meal because I wanted to reserve my stomach for my favourite Four Beans dessert! I've been hooked on it ever since I first had it with my BFFs!

The kids shared a chocolate shaved ice dessert, which they absolutely loved!
My soy beancurd with customised toppings 😋

It was a super sweet end to our short getaway 😁
