Life As a Temporary SAHM

In a blink of an eye, 2 months have passed and it was time for me to head back to work (albeit part-time as I will be spreading out my maternity leave). Even though the 2 months was filled with milk-production and sleepless nights, it was also filled with baby smells and not having to think about work! =)

I had a lot of grand ideas of what I was going to do during my maternity leave. As I stared at my computer screen at the office, I was already daydreaming of high teas with family or friends at the malls (preferably a mall with a nursing room I can review) and being able to engage in my favourite hobbies (painting, scrapbooking and watching TV).

Of course I had totally underestimated the amount of time required to take care of a newborn baby! I had just barely enough time to document my breastfeeding journey on the blog, much less do any of the things I had planned to do. When my confinement finally ended and things were more settled, I started to schedule as many "high teas" as I could with my family and friends (to catch up with them). I think I filled almost everyday with a meet up or an outing! *laughs*

Baby Boy is stuck to me all the time as he is breastfeeding so I bring him with me everywhere in our carrier that we bought to carry my girl when she was younger. Now we're able to use it for my boy and I never go anywhere without it! =)

Out and about in my trusty carrier!
My cute little "kangeroo" :)

I also make it a point to pick my girl early from school and bring her to playgrounds to play. She has so much fun that she would always dread going back to school the next day! Who could blame her really..

When we were not out shopping at the malls, we were either sleeping, playing, watching TV or blogging (that one's just me) at home. I really enjoy spending time with my kids and watching them interact with each other.

My girl loves to play with dolls but little brothers are much more fun than plastic toys
"Di Di (little brother)," she says, "drink your juice ah!"
Little brothers also make the perfect patients for playing doctor!
They let you do whatever you want without retaliating (at least not physically *laughs*)

Although she irritates the hell out of her brother, she truly loves him very much. She doesn't sleep unless she kisses him every night (no one ever kisses mama anymore *sob*) and even demands that I must "take good care of Di Di ah mummy!" (-_-").

I often end my days physically tired but really happy as well because I know that I've spent quality time with my kids. I will treasure this short period as a temporary stay-at-home mom (SAHM) to a little baby because before long my baby won't be a baby anymore. To me, work can wait but babies cannot!

Although I did not manage to fulfill most of what I had planned to do, at least I managed to review 7 new nursing rooms and spent quality time with my family and friends. The other plans, well, it is lucky that I still have more maternity leave! =)

Don't know how I'm going to go back to work after staying home for 2 months. *sigh*

I will take a day as it comes.. =)
