Nursing Room Review

When I made my decision to breastfeed exclusively, I was immediately faced with the challenge of breastfeeding my baby when we're not at home. As I didn't want to do it out in the open, being so new to it and all, I relied on breastfeeding / baby care rooms in the places that our family frequents.

Here's my review of nursing rooms in alphabetical order and my ratings (out of 5 ★) based on this judging criteria and my personal experiences. Nursing rooms are generally located next to the toilets, unless otherwise specified.

Best viewed as a Desktop site, this list is not exhaustive & has last been updated on 24 February 2017.

P.S: Join me on my breastfeeding journey with my baby boy as well =)

 Nursing Rooms in Singapore

*New Review [Jurong Library]
Nursing Room @ Jurong Library
Location: Level B1 (Children's Library)
Size: Elephant-Large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but relatively clean and has adequate amenities. It's nice to find such a nice nursing room at the back of the children's library.
Rating: ★★★★

*New Review [National Gallery Singapore]
Nursing Room @ National Gallery Singapore (Level 2)
Location: Level B1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (Click for exact locations)
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Electrical point, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but relatively clean and has adequate amenities. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicle may make expressing milk more inconvenient. Nevertheless, there were nursing rooms located on every floor.
Rating: ★★★

[313 Somerset]
Nursing Room @ 313 Somerset (Level B3)
Location: Level B3, 1 & 5
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, microwave, child-friendly toilet.
Not available: Electrical point, bottle-warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Cubicles with curtains
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, very clean, spacious and has adequate amenities. There is a toilet (for both adult and child) attached to it as well as a microwave available for heating up baby food. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient. In addition, privacy may be compromised as the curtains may be easily drawn open by people trying to check if the cubicle is being used. Some people, such as the staff, also liked to use the room as a pantry/resting area and this can be rather annoying.
Rating: ★★★★★

[321 Clementi]
Nursing Room @ 321 Clementi
Location: Level 2
Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, waiting area.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but with some amenities and relatively clean. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicle may make expressing milk more inconvenient. In addition, there was also only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied. When I visited the room on Oct 2015, there wasn't a chair in the nursing cubicle, though I'm guessing it's because the mall is still new.
Rating: ★★★★

[Ang Mo Kio Hub]
Nursing Room @ AMK Hub
Location: Level 3 (opposite #03-26)
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, hot water dispenser, waiting area.
Not available: Electrical point, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, relatively clean, spacious and has some amenities. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient (there was once when I had to pump using batteries). Some people, such as the staff, also liked to use the room as a pantry/resting area and this can be rather annoying.
Rating: ★★★★

[Anchorpoint]
Nursing Room @ Anchorpoint (Level B1)
Location: Level B1 & 1
Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Curtains only
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but very clean and has some amenities. However, the flimsy curtains provided little privacy as it could not be drawn completely due to the lack of hooks on the wall for the curtains to attach to. Hence, there was once when I was breastfeeding and a man walked into the room and drew open the curtains. He was of course very embarrassed and apologised profusely while I, on the other hand, was more furious than embarrassed. Asking if anyone was there would have been extremely helpful. I have since learnt my lesson and would lock the main door when I'm nursing.
Rating: ★★★

[ARC]
Nursing Room @ ARC (Level 1)
Location: Level 1 & 2
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot water dispenser, child-friendly toilet.
Not available: Waiting area, high chair, bottle-warmer.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, clean and has adequate amenities. There is also a kid-friendly toilet located within the nursing room so parents with older children may tend to both the older and younger children at the same time. However, as the door to the nursing room can only be locked by obtaining a key from the customer service counter at Level 1, it may result in some inconvenience.
Rating: ★★★★

[Bedok Mall]
Nursing Room @ Bedok Mall
Location: Level B1 (next to the toilets at #B1-01/43/44, i.e. Best Denki)
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, waiting area.
Not available: Hot & cold water dispenser, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock and/or curtains
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, clean and has adequate amenities. However, one of the cubicle doors could not be closed so I had to breastfeed with the curtains drawn instead. Hence, privacy may be compromised if the doors are stuck and cannot be closed. Nevertheless, the waiting benches were useful for accompanying family/friends and/or parents who are bottle-feeding their babies.
Rating: ★★★★★

[Bedok Point]
Nursing Room @ Bedok Point (Level 2)
Location: Level 1, 2 & 3
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Electrical point, waiting area, bottle-warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Curtains
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but relatively clean. However, there were few amenities and the lack of electrical points may make expressing milk more inconvenient. In addition, privacy may be compromised by the curtains which may not be drawn completely. Nevertheless, there are many nursing rooms available on almost every floor.
Rating: ★★★

[BHG Bugis]
Nursing Room @ BHG Bugis
Location: Level 3
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Electrical point, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Curtains
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated and clean but has few amenities. The lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient. In addition, privacy may be compromised as the curtains may be easily drawn open by people trying to check if the cubicle is being used. There was also only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied. Alternatively, you may also use the other nursing rooms located within Bugis Junction (see Bugis Junction).
Rating: ★★★

[Big Box]
Nursing room @ Big Box (Level 3)
Location: Level 1, 2 & 3
Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated and has few amenities but relatively clean. However, the room cannot be locked so if you want to nurse, you may need to either nurse under a cover, have someone stand guard at the door or put your stroller at the entrance to block people from walking in (and you nurse facing the wall). If you are alone without a nursing cover or stroller, you should consider using the nursing rooms located at JEM instead (see JEM).
Rating: ★★

[Bugis Junction]
Nursing Room @ Bugis Junction (Level 3)
Location: Level B1, 1 & 3
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Electrical point, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated, cramped and has few amenities but relatively clean. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient. Some people, such as the staff, also liked to use the room as a pantry and this can be rather annoying. Nevertheless, there is a nursing room available on almost every floor of the mall. Alternatively, you may also use the larger nursing room located inside BHG (see BHG Bugis).
Rating: ★★★

[Bugis+ (previously known as Iluma)]
Nursing Room @ Bugis+ (Level 2)
Location: Level 1, 2 & 3
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated and has few amenities but relatively clean. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient. Although there were many nursing rooms available on every floor, privacy may be compromised by the translucent panel on the door. In addition, the one that I visited at level 2 had a bad smell.
Rating:

[Bukit Panjang Plaza]
Nursing Room @ Bukit Panjang Plaza (Level 3)
Location: Level 1, 2, 3 & 4
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle-warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No

Location: Level B1
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated and clean but has few amenities. The lack of electrical points may also make expressing milk more inconvenient. There was also only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.
Rating: ★★★

[Causeway Point]
Nursing Room @ Causeway Point (Level B1)
Location: Level B1, 1, 2, 3, 4
Size: Level B1 = Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
         Level 1, 2, 3, 4 = Average (accommodates 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Electrical point, waiting area, high chair, bottle-warmer.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Curtains
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, relatively clean and has some amenities. Nevertheless, there were more than enough nursing rooms available on every floor.
Rating: ★★★

[Centerpoint]
Nursing Room @ Centerpoint (Level 3)
Location: Level 3 & 6
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Level 3 = Sink, waiting area.
Level 6 = Sink, electrical point, toilets for both young children and parents (see photo).
Not available: Hot & cold water dispenser, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of Separation: Door without lock
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, relatively clean, spacious and has some amenities. The nursing room at Level 6 was embedded in a special toilet reserved for families with young children and there was a changing area in both the nursing room as well as on the outside, which was very convenient. However, privacy was compromised by the lack of a lock on the door so do ensure that someone is with you when using the nursing rooms, especially the one at Level 6.
Rating: ★★★★

[Central]
Nursing Room @ Central
Location: Level 1 (behind #01-58)
Size: Average (accommodates 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, high chair, bottle-warmer.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated and has some amenities. However, there was only one room available, which did not appear to be well-maintained, so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.
Rating: ★★

[Century Square]
Nursing room @ Century Square (Level 2)
Location: Level 2 & 3
Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle-warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, very clean and has some amenities. However, as the signboard "occupied" may be lighted even though it is actually not occupied, you might have to check to make sure if it's in use or not. Some people, such as the staff, also liked to use the room as a pantry/resting area and this can be rather annoying.
Rating: ★★★

[Changi Airport Terminal 1]
Nursing Room @ Airport Terminal 1
Location: Level 2 & 3
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but very clean and has some amenities. However, you may need to walk really far to use the next available nursing room if the nearest one is occupied as the nursing rooms tend to be fully utilised on weekends.
Rating: ★★★

Nursing Room @ Airport Terminal 2
Location: Level 2, Departure Hall

[Changi Airport Terminal 3]
Nursing Room @ Airport Terminal 3 (Level 1)
Location: Various places
Size: The one at level 1 next to TCC is larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, disposable diapers dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Classy design, very clean, spacious and has adequate amenities. However, privacy was compromised as the lock on the door was not tight. There was once when I distinctively remembered locking the door and some man tried to open the door and succeeded! Thankfully my sister was there to stop him from entering. I think the airport should put up a sign on the door that says 'Nursing room, not toilet' as many people kept entering the room by mistake.
Rating: ★★★★

Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point.
Not available: Hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated with few amenities but relatively clean. However, there wasn't even a proper chair other than an uncomfortable bench in the nursing room and it would also be good if there were waiting benches available outside of the room for family/friends. In addition, as there was only one nursing room available, you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.
Rating: ★★

[Chinatown Point]
Nursing Room @ Chinatown Point (Level 4)
Location: Level 3 & 4 (near the library)
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)

[City Link Mall]

Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle-warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated but not very clean and has few amenities. The lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient. However, as the nursing room can only be assessed by signing out a key from the concierge, the security of the room is maintained (although this may also result in some inconvenience). Nevertheless, there was only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.
Rating: ★★★

[City Square Mall]
Nursing Room @ City Square Mall (Level 4)
Location: Level B1, 2 & 4
Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, relatively clean and has some amenities. As many people like to use the room as a pantry previously, the mall has added a telecom feature that requires you to press a call button in order to access the room. I thought that was a good deterrent in order to prevent the room from being misused as a resting area or pantry.
Rating: ★★★★★

[Civil Service Club, Bukit Batok]
Nursing room @ Bukit Batok Civil Service Club
Location: Level 3, inside the female toilet
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 small stroller)
Available: Sink, electrical point.
Not available: Hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated, small and has few amenities but relatively clean. However, as the nursing room is located within the female toilet, cleanliness and smell may be compromised. In addition, there was only one room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.
Rating: ★★

[Civil Service College]
Nursing Room @ Civil Service College
Location: Level 1
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot water dispenser, bar fridge.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: There was no changing area.
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, clean and has adequate amenities. There was even a bar fridge available for mothers to store their expressed milk (as long as it is labelled to prevent confusion). In addition, as the nursing room can only be assessed by signing out a key from the customer service counter, the security of the room is maintained (although this may also result in some inconvenience). However, there was only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied. You may request for the customer service officer to give you a call when the room is ready so that you do not have to wait around for it to be available.

Rating: ★★★★

[Compass Point]
Nursing Room @ Compass Point
Location: Level 4
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes

Location: Level 6
Size: Too small (can't accommodate a stroller)
Available: Electrical point.
Not available: Sink, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated and clean but small and has little amenities. It can also be quite deserted in the evening when the neighbouring tuition and childcare centres are closed. In addition, privacy may be compromised as there was a portion at the bottom of the door that was transparent, which may allow people to peep into the room. There was also only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.

Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Curtains
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated and has some amenities. However, privacy might be compromised as the curtains may be easily drawn open by people trying to check if the cubicle is being used. Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock

[Harbourfront Centre]
Nursing Room @ Harbourfront Centre (Level 3)
Location: Level 2 & 3
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, hot water dispenser.
Not available: Electrical point, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: A cubicle with curtain
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, clean, spacious but has few amenities. The lack of electrical points in the cubicles may also make expressing milk more inconvenient. In addition, privacy was compromised by the flimsy curtains which could not be drawn completely due to the lack of hooks on the wall for the curtains to attach to. This made me feel very uneasy especially since there was a father outside in the changing area changing his kid's diapers. There is also only one room on each level so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied. Alternatively, you may consider using the nursing rooms located at nearby Vivocity (see Vivocity).

[HDB Hub @ Toa Payoh]
Nursing Room @ HDB Hub
Location: Level 2
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot water dispenser, waiting area.
Not available: Bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated, not regularly cleaned but has adequate amenities. There isn't enough room inside the cubicles to fit a stroller so you may have to park it outside. Nevertheless, the gap between the door and the floor does allow you to keep an eye on it (at least partially). In addition, as there is no air-conditioning in the room, it may get very warm and stuffy. Furthermore, some of the staff liked to use the room as a pantry/resting area and this can be rather annoying.

[Hort Park]
Nursing Room @ Hort Park
Location: Level 1, within the female toilet
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated and clean but has few amenities. As the room was located within the female toilet, it might not be very hygienic or pleasant. In addition, there was also no proper chair to sit in except for an uncomfortable bench. Although there is a wall fan in the room, it may get very warm and stuffy during certain times of the day. Furthermore, there was only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.

[Immigration Checkpoint Authority (ICA)]
Nursing Room @ ICA (Level 3)
Location: Level 2 & 3
Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, high chair, bottle warmer.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated and has few amenities but relatively clean. However, the lack of electrical points may make expressing milk more inconvenient. In addition, privacy may be compromised as the main door cannot be locked (and people, including men, may open the door quite frequently as they often mistook the room for a toilet) so be prepared to cover up with a nursing cover.

Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, electrical point (except for Ikea Alexandra Level 1), disposable diapers dispenser.
Not available: Hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated and has some amenities. IKEA Alexandra finally included another room on Level 1 to cater to more parents. [IMM]
Nursing Room @ IMM
Location: Level 2 & 3 (next to the toilets nearest to the carpark)
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, baby holders.
Not available: Bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, relatively clean and has adequate amenities. The mall has renovated the nursing room to include a waiting area for family/friends as well as 4 separate cubicles for greater privacy. Each cubicle also contained a baby holder, which parents can use to feed their baby/toddler (with a spoon) or mothers of multiples can use to hold one baby while the other gets breastfed. However, the cubicles are not big enough for a stroller so you may need to fold it up or park it outside. As an added security feature, the mall has added a telecom feature that requires you to press a call button in order to access the room. I thought that was a good deterrent in order to prevent the room from being misused as a resting area or pantry.

[ION Orchard]
Nursing Room @ Ion Orchard (Level B4)
Location: Level B4, B3, 3 & 4
Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Electrical point, sink, hot & cold water dispenser, bottle warmer, disposable diapers dispenser, standing fan.
Not available: Waiting area, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Classy design, relatively clean, spacious and has adequate amenities. However, privacy may be compromised if the automated door doesn't lock or close (which happens quite often). This is very inconvenient if you want to use the space for nursing. There was once when I had to breasfeed in one of the rooms with the door open because the mechanism was spoilt (I used my stroller to prevent anyone from entering). In addition, despite the many nursing rooms available at various locations, they may all be fully utilised on weekends (as I found out firsthand when I went from floor to floor looking for an available nursing room). Some people, such as the staff, also liked to use the room as a pantry and this can be rather annoying.

Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock

Available: Sink, electrical point, hot water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Cubicles with curtains
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, spacious and has some amenities. However, privacy may be compromised by the curtains which may not be drawn completely. Some people, such as the staff, also liked to use the room as a pantry/resting area and this can be rather annoying. I personally witnessed a staff member who blatantly threw away some tissue paper next to the sink and dirtied the place after touching up her makeup. Nevertheless, there are child-friendly toilets located just next to this nursing room so parents with older children may tend to both the older and younger children at the same time.

Not available: Bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, spacious and has adequate amenities. There is plenty of space for nursing and diaper changing so you don't have to compete with other parents. There is also a kid-friendly toilet located within the nursing room so parents with older children may tend to both their older and younger children at the same time. However, as the nursing room at Level 5 is located near the crowded food court, cleanliness might be compromised in future if the room is not cleaned regularly.

Personal Experience: Minimally decorated and has few amenities but relatively clean. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicle may make expressing milk more inconvenient. [Liang Court]
Nursing Room @ Liang Court (New Extension Baby Changing Room)
Location: Level B1

New Extension = Sink, hot & cold water dispenser, baby seat
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Existing Nursing Room = No
                                                                              New Extension = Yes
Mode of separation: New Extension = Door with lock
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, very clean, spacious and has adequate amenities. The mall recently built a New Extension Baby Changing Room just a few metres away from the Existing Nursing Room in order to compensate for the lack of nursing rooms and accommodate the needs of more parents. Although the Existing Nursing Room has electrical points while the New Extension did not, the New Extension has more private nursing cubicles and even a baby holder available for mothers with more than one baby/toddler as one can be placed in the holder while the other gets a diaper change. However some people, such as the staff, also liked to use the room as a pantry/resting area and this can be rather annoying. It would also be good if there were waiting benches available outside of the rooms for family/friends.

Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated and relatively clean but has few amenities. There was a sink and changing space in the nursing area as well as on the outside, which is quite convenient. However, there was only one nursing room available so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied. Alternatively, you may also use the nursing room located at the extension (see Plaza Singapura Extension).

Nursing Room @ Raffles City Shopping Centre (Level 3)
Location: Level B1 (next to #B1-44D) & 3 (opposite #03-07A)
Size: Level B1 = Too small (can't accommodate a stroller)
         Level 3 = Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Level B1 = Sink.
Level 3 = Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser and waiting area.
Not available: High chair, bottle warmer.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated and relatively clean. However, the nursing room at Level 3 has much more space and amenities than the one at Level B1. The lack of electrical points at Level B1 may also make expressing milk more inconvenient. There was also poorer ventilation in the cubicles at Level B1 which can make it very hot inside. Hence, it is perhaps worthwhile to make the trip to use the nursing room located at Level 3, even though people may misuse the room as a pantry/resting area which can be rather annoying.

[Takashimaya Shopping Centre]
Nursing Room @ Takashimaya
Location: Level 4
Size: Elephant-large (accommodates more than 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area with TV, high chair, bottle warmer (request from staff).
Not available: None
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, very spacious, relatively clean and has adequate amenities. A staff was also present to render assistance when required and ensure that the facility is not misused. The nursing room has recently been renovated such that the nursing area is a lot more spacious than before. There were 5 individual cubicles that were big enough for diaper changing tables and even a stroller inside each cubicle. There was also a sign outside that informed people that the rooms were for nursing mothers only and "strictly no males allowed". Family members could also wait in comfort at the waiting area outside and be entertained by a TV mounted on the wall. This is definitely a big improvement from the previous design. Nevertheless the improved design makes this nursing room extremely popular with parents. I personally witnessed all 5 nursing cubicles being utilised and with 4 other mothers waiting in the queue to use it (staff ensured that there was order) on an ordinary weekday afternoon! Hence, be prepared to wait or come up with plan B such as nursing under a nursing cover (like I did) or use the nursing rooms located at Ngee Ann City (see Ngee Ann City).

Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated and has few amenities. However, as the nursing rooms can only be assessed by obtaining a key from the security counter (see map for directions), the security of the room is maintained. Nevertheless, this may also result in some inconvenience as the security guard may not have the key with him. He tried to give me a bunch of instructions to obtain the key from another staff and even insisted that he could not leave his post to get the key for me. After a while I got impatient and insisted that he got the key for me himself otherwise I was going to call the management. That got him moving and after waiting for a long time, he finally managed to get me assess to the room through one of the cleaners of the toilets. From this experience, you may want to consider approaching a cleaner (wearing yellow shirts) for assess to the toilet instead of the security guard (whichever is more convenient for you).

Size: Average (accommodates only 1 stroller)
Available: Sink, electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser.
Not available: Waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Curtains
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but has some amenities and clean. The main door is locked and you'd have to request for the staff that is minding the entrance of UWS to open the door for you. This may be a bit inconvenient but it reduces misuse by visitors who may mistake it for a pantry. However, the changing table is not padded so we would need to bring your own changing mat to change your baby's diapers. The air-conditioning is also not very strong so it might be stuffy. Nevertheless, UWS was nice enough to provide a standing fan should you need to use it.

Mode of separation: Level 2 (main) = Cubicles with curtains
Personal Experience: Nicely decorated, relatively clean, spacious and has adequate amenities. The main nursing room has relocated to another location on the same floor, with 4 cubicles for nursing instead. However, the cubicles are still not big enough for a stroller so you may need to fold it up or park it outside. Cleanliness may also be compromised on weekends by the crowd of people utilising the main nursing room. Not available: Hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, bottle warmer, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: No
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated and has few amenities but relatively clean. The mall has also added a lock to the door (it couldn't be locked previously) so that you can have more privacy when nursing. However, the room is not easily accessible, especially if you have a stroller with you. The only way to the room is via a long flight of stairs or the lifts so I would suggest taking the escalator to Level 2 and then taking the lift to Level 1 if you have a stroller. Personal Experience: Minimally decorated, not very clean and has few amenities. As it is located inside the female toilet, it had a bad smell. It is also often mistaken as a resting area since only a curtain separates the nursing area from the main toilet. In addition, the lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient. There is also only one room so you may have to wait to use it if it's occupied.

In addition, privacy may be compromised by use of the curtains instead of a door. Nevertheless, the mall thoughtfully provided a sign that said "Baby Feeding In Progress Please Do Not Disturb", which they advise parents to put on the main door so as to warn people that the room is being used.

Personal Experience: Beautifully decorated, clean and has adequate amenities. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient. Nevertheless, there were entertaining toys on the wall that could occupy an older child while the baby is nursing and it was generally a pleasant environment for parents to tend to their baby's needs.

[Hong Kong International Airport]
Nursing Room @ HK International Airport Terminal 1, Departure (near the restaurants)
Location: Various locations
Size: Larger than average (accommodates 2 strollers)
Available: Sink, bottle warmer.
Not available: Electrical point, hot & cold water dispenser, waiting area, high chair.
Nursing area separated from changing area: Yes
Mode of separation: Door with lock
Personal Experience: Minimally decorated but clean and has some amenities. However, the lack of electrical points in the cubicles may make expressing milk more inconvenient (I had to use my batteries). Although there were many nursing rooms in the airport, there are usually only one in the area you're in (the next one is likely quite far away) so be prepared to wait to use the nursing room if it's occupied. There was once when I was waiting a long time for the nursing room and when the person finally came out, it was a cleaning staff (obviously not cleaning the room -_-).

[South Korea, Seoul - COEX Aquarium]

Not available: Sink (nearby toilets), hot & cold water dispenser, bottle warmer, high chair.

The air purifiers also keep the air in the room clean and fresh while the baby cot provides a place for mothers with twins or 2 young children to lay one in the cot while she nursed the other. There are also many nursing rooms available throughout the aquarium so that you don't have to wait for a nursing room if it is not available. However, privacy may be compromised as the curtains may be easily drawn open by people trying to check if the cubicle is being used. In addition, there is also no sink in the room so you may need to wash your hands in the nearby toilets or with hand sanitisers.

Nevertheless, signs that said "currently in use" hung on the curtains help to warn people that the nursing cubicle is occupied.
