A Day Out with My Mama

It's been a long time since I had spent time alone with my mum so last week I decided to take leave and spend time with her on her birthday. We decided to go to Gardens by the Bay so we stopped by the Marina Bay Sands for lunch.

With all the Christmas decorations on display, we were really feeling the Christmas spirit! =)

After lunch, we headed to Gardens by the Bay but were sort of derailed by the sudden downpour of rain! Mum and I had to wait it out while my girl took her afternoon nap. When the rain stopped, we went to check out if the children's playground was open and were disappointed when we discovered it was not. I had promised my girl that we were bringing her to a water playground so to avoid disappointing her, we decided to walk about 15 minutes to the nearest water playground at Marina Barrage.

As you can see, she had a blast!

Thankfully the sun came up long enough for her to have a great time with my mum and me! However, as we were leaving via the only bus from Marina Barrage to Marina Bay MRT, there was a sudden downpour of rain after we alighted and ended up having to run (yes, this preggy had to run!) from the bus stop to the MRT station! Thank God we managed to get out of there in time though.. I really can't imagine being stuck at Marina Barrage in the middle of nowhere :S

We met up with the rest of my siblings for dinner and by the time we hit the bed at night, we were both exhausted! Had an enjoyable day of quality time with my mum, which is something I don't get much of these days now that I work full-time!
