Ipoh-Penang II Day 5-6: Kuala Lumpur Stopover

After checking out from Golden Sands Resort (and saying goodbye to the awesome pool), we travelled about an hour to Luen Fong Restaurant at Tanjung Tualang for lunch.

We tried their famous live giant river prawns the last time and the hubby loved it so much that he insisted we make a stop here before continuing to Kuala Lumpur (check out my previous post for all the photos).

After lunch, we drove for another 1.5-2 hours to our hotel, Royale Chulan Damansara. We chose this hotel for its close proximity to shopping centres and of course, Kidzania Kuala Lumpur! We didn't have time to visit Kidzania this trip (will be doing so in September instead) but it was good to just explore in preparation for our upcoming KL trip.

The Royale Chulan Damansara
Left: It was the month of Ramadhan when we visited;
Right: Super high ceilings and chandeliers in the lobby.

The hotel ran out of the Premier Rooms, which we had booked, so they upgraded us to the Club Room (but without the privileges sadly).

Giant king bed
We booked connecting rooms
Clockwise from top left: The wardrobe, safe and other amenities;
Spacious bathroom with no bathtub though;
Simple toiletries, nothing extraordinary;
Complimentary water.
Toilet area is separate from the bath area

We only had time for a short 30 minute swim at the pool but the kids had fun. It was nothing like Golden Sands Resort of course but it would suffice.

The swimming pool
Smaller wading pool for the younger ones

The hotel also had a small indoor playground within the hotel but we didn't have time for it.

Kiddies Land

Instead, we went shopping at The Curve, located right next to our hotel. The best part about the mall? The Kids Zone!

The Curve
Kids Zone, with nursing room facilities
Big toddler play area
Beautiful aquarium that looks like the one that used to exist in Wisma but don't any more
"Look mummy, that's Dory!"
The playground for older kids
The kids loved it!
Walking outside under the lights

We didn't have enough time to explore the whole mall. Decided to come back to KL again in September! =)

The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel's Royale Coffee House.

Simple breakfast at the hotel

We checked out and drove about 1 hour to Muar where we bought their famous Otah and had lunch.

Lunch at Yi Tou Wang Restaurant in Muar

What a great way to end our road trip! Can't wait for our next adventure in Malaysia! =)
