Sydney II Day 4: Leura & Katoomba, Blue Mountains

We had home-cooked breakfast in our apartment (needed to clear the fridge) before checking out of our hotel at 11am. Mum-in-law cooked her famous bee hoon, which was delicious!

We made our way to the Blue Mountains, where we planned to stay for 3 nights as we felt we didn't spend enough time there during our first visit to Sydney.

As we were still early, we popped by the town of Leura

It was quite cold as it had been drizzling! We headed to the famous Josophan's Fine Chocolates to get some of their chocolates and ice cream!

The chocolate and ice cream were really good! Thumbs up from this chocolate lover! 😄

We headed to Katoomba town next and shopped at Woolworths and Big W.

Gotta love Big W for the range of value-for-money clothes, shoes and accessories! Had a great time shopping! 😄

After we were done with shopping, we headed to our rental home, which was only 10 minutes away.

We had booked a 3-bedroom house at 73 Loftus Street via Agoda at S$338.45 per night. The hosts sent us long instructions via Whatsapp, with key information such as the access code to the main door and parking our car on the driveway.

We were excited as it was not often that we got to experience what it's like to live in a landed house.

The living and dining areas were relatively large, with a big heater right in the middle behind the dining table. The heater was very useful especially at night, when the floors were very cold!

The master bedroom, which faces the driveway, is the only bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The set-up was simple, with an open hanging rack to store our clothes.

The bathroom sink was small but there was a heater in the bathroom, which made bathing in winter more bearable 😃

The second and third rooms were next to the main bathrooms of the house. One room had a double bed while the other had twin beds.

The bathtub and shower were separated from the toilet but both did not have heaters so it can get really cold especially at night! Thankfully, thick house slippers were relatively cheap at Big W and Kmart so we bought one pair per person to wear around the house!

The wall of doors next to kitchen housed all the things we might need to stay comfortably in the house! Things such as a washing machine, ladder, clothes hanger, and even a baby cot!

Similarly, the kitchen was well-stocked with almost everything we would find in our own kitchen!

Things that we bought because the previous apartment didn't have it were totally useless in this kitchen! We also love the view of the garden from the kitchen window and how spacious the kitchen was!

Needless to say, the Mum-in-law cooked up a storm in this kitchen and we benefitted by having fresh home-cooked dinners every evening 😀

At night, I happily took out my truffles from Josophan's to savour with my Eldest Girl. It was so yummy! 😋

We also took hot baths in the bathtub with the bath bombs we got from Don Don Donki to warm our cold bodies.

Had a great sleep that night! So far so good 😊
