Guangzhou-HK Day 4: Canton Tower

Since we were not in a hurry, we decided to linger at breakfast at the Horizon Club that morning.

My choice of breakfast that morning

By the time we left our hotel, it was almost 12 noon! We hailed a premium 6-seater DiDi (CN¥56) to Canton Tower (yes again!) because we wanted to ride the bubble tram that we missed out on 2 days ago!

Saw the Chigang Pagoda from our car

We bought the Observation Deck and Bubble Tram package tickets at CN¥298 per adult and CN¥255 per child/youth above 1.5m or senior aged 60 to 74 years old. Children below 7 years old or seniors 75 years old and above are FREE.

The first thing we did was to take the elevator from the ground floor to Level 107.

When we were done exploring the Level 107 Observation Deck, we took another elevator to Level 111.

Level 111 was at 448.8m high!

Here for the Bubble Tram!
Each capsule/cabin can take up to 6 persons
Our turn to ride!
Unobstructed view of Guangdong Museum, which we visited two days ago
We were so high up that we could see the roofs of many tall buildings!

The world's highest bubble tram / Ferris wheel!

After we disembarked from the Bubble Tram, we spent some time taking in the sights as it's not often we get to see Guangzhou with a bird's eye view! After all, Canton Tower features the highest observation deck in China!

On top of Guangzhou!

Finally ready to leave
Canton Tower celebrates its 15th anniversary this year!
It's the same age as my Eldest! 😀

If you have time, you can also check out Skyone Celebrity Wax Museum, which is located in the same tower. For our family, we preferred to shop, eat and play at Canton Tower Plaza instead! 😀

Shopping at our favourite toy shop, Top Toy!
Yes, we got more toys! 😅

It was time for lunch and the Hubby chose Rice Haven 谷田稻香.

Rice Haven
Menu of their signature clay pot dishes
Steam egg and vegetables
Spicy tofu and fried egg
Prawn with glass noodles
Stewed beef with mushroom and vegetables
Of course their rice is the highlight of the meal!

I am not a rice person but I'd have to say, the rice was truly incredible! The restaurant really lived up to its name!

I was greedily craving for the barbeque pork buns that we had at Chua Lam's Dim Sum (located opposite of Rice Haven) 2 days ago so we ordered 2 for take away.

Yummy cha shao bao! 😋

After lunch, the Hubby decided to buy tickets for the kids to enjoy the B.Duck City Funs carnival.

The B.Duck carnival at the basement
Our first ride was a carousel where we had to catch flying balls in exchange for little toys;
Each adult can ride for FREE with every paying child.
The staff told us that there were more rides at Level 1
Very colourful B.Duck
The kids walked pass the scary spinning ride
Headed straight for the harmless car ride
The Hubby rode with the Littlest
The final ride of the day
The machine spun round and round and flung the kids about! They loved it!

When it was time for our evening canapes at 6pm, we hailed a premium 6-seater DiDi (CN¥58) back to our hotel.

We love having our evening canapes everyday!
The Littlest is not always a fan of the canapes so the Hubby bought her favourite strawberries from Canton Tower Plaza's Aeon

The younger kids still had some energy to burn so I brought them to swim in our hotel's indoor pool.

Swimming in the night with very few people in the pool

We all had a great sleep that night!
