KidzWorld at the Singapore Zoo

On the last day of May this year, I brought the kids and Cousin E to the Singapore Zoo as I managed to ballot for my organisation's corporate pass. My kids have not been to the new KidzWorld since it opened and I've been wanting to check it out.

We passed many enclosures before arriving at KidzWorld, the furthest from the entrance.

The younger kids were super excited to play at the playground!

I shouted excitedly to the kids that we should go to Animal Land and pet the goats!

The 2 youngest were the only ones who didn't dare to pet the goats! They were only willing to take photos with them.

The goats were very tame! My boy had the most fun petting them!

We also explored the other areas of the petting zoo.

We found the petting zoo small and not as good as other zoos we've visited such as Sydney Zoo (2023), Bali Safari & Marine Park (2022) and Lost World of Tambun (2022). The animal interactions at the Animal Buddies Theatre were also disappointing. There was only one rabbit during the rabbit interaction session and all the kids had to queue to pet it for less than a minute.

It soon got so hot that we brought the kids to the water playground to cool down!

Kids had a lot of fun splashing in the water! At around 1.15pm, my stomach started growling and I rounded up the kids for lunch. Knowing that they would want to continue playing in the water later that afternoon, I dried them with a towel and didn't change them. We had lunch at KidzWorld Cafe, where the food was acceptable, not impressive.

The Animal Friends Presentation show was about to start at 2pm so we headed to the theatre.

Honestly, the show was very boring, especially for the older kids and adults! Although the golden retriever, goats and other domestic animals were very cute, they were not enough to make an interesting show in my opinion.

The kids returned to the water playground and played until 3pm. We washed up at the shower facilities nearby as they were spacious and convenient. If I had known the facilities were so good I would have brought a change of clothes and toiletries because my clothes were soaked with sweat! Thankfully I brought a t-shirt to change!

We walked back to the entrance, passing by many animals along the way.

Although the skies threatened to rain in the morning, we had very good weather the whole time that we were there! Thank God 😀

The 2 little kids had fun but the older kids and adults were mostly bored because we've probably visited the zoo way too many times! 🤣

Don't think we'll be back, not unless we're visiting the new Bird's Paradise! 😄

Playdate at Kidztopia Jurong Point

I've been wanting to bring the littlest girls to check out Kidztopia Jurong Point and my opportunity came when their school was closed for a day in April. The Lee 'twins' were so excited!

They started by pretending to be police officers and supermarket stall owners.

Next, they played with 'sand' in the sandpit.

They loved playing so much that they almost didn't want to eat their lunch, which was part of the promotional admission package we had bought.

The food was not bad but the kids were more excited to go back to playing than they were about eating!

The kids loved the huge ball pit and enjoyed the slides and interactive board.

We also loved the interactive trampoline, which was also fun for adults to play with the kids!

There was a small play room available for kids who enjoyed quiet and creative play.

I suppose this interactive screen was supposed to do more than scribbles but I couldn't figure out how to get it to work! They loved the scribbling though! And digital meant a tap of a button to erase! Super convenient!

One of the main attractions of the playground was the carousel, which was only operated by staff every hour. It was tiny but kids enjoyed it!

The kids almost didn't want to leave because they were having so much fun! I won a lot of fun mum/aunt points today 😄

CNY & Littlest's 4th Birthday

This year we finally could enjoy CNY like we did pre-COVID! I've always loved festivals but the pandemic makes you appreciate them even more! 😃

Reunion Dinner

As usual, I decorated my home with pretty rabbit CNY decorations. I've also made my own lanterns to hang in my living room!

We kept reunion dinner relatively simple, with 2 mookata plates and lots of ingredients! 😀

CNY Day 1

Unlike the year before where there were still restrictions on number of visitors to a home, there were no more restrictions this year! Hooray! 🥳

The extended family on my mum's side happily met up at my only surviving grandparent's house together!

We had to take a picture to commemorate the occasion, especially since many of the kids have grown up and look so different!

The Lee family gathered in the evening to have dinner and lohei.

I really treasure family gatherings because before you know it, time has passed and things will not be the same anymore!

CNY DAY 3

We spent CNY Day 2 with the extended Lee family and Day 3 (which was still a public holiday) at MBS. The hubby brought us to try Koma, which is most well-known for their beautiful Japanese decor.

The food was good but the most spectacular in my opinion was the desserts! Especially their edible bonsai! Definitely my favourite part of the meal!

We asked the staff to help us take some family photos before heading to the new interactive art exhibit next to the food court that used to be the ice skating rink.

This is a paid activity but we had two free tickets because we were MBS Prestige members.

Just like the Sketch Aquarium in the Art Science Museum, the kids coloured pictures of marine animals, which were scanned into a machine so that they will appear in the interactive floor. We waited for a long time but their pictures didn't come up! There was a problem with the scanner! Sad 😢

Nevertheless the kids had a lot of fun! 😀

Littlest's 4th Birthday

The Littlest was born during CNY period hence we usually celebrate her birthday close to CNY. She had so many cakes for her birthday this year!

Her dad also brought her to eat her favourite beef, with medium doneness just as she likes it!

Hope you enjoyed your birthday darling! It's so great that we are able to have our usual gatherings and celebrations! 🥳
