Water Playdate at Clusia Cove

It was a public holiday and we didn't have anything planned. The Littlest Girl's best friend (our youngest niece) tagged along with us on our usual Sunday run to the supermarket.


We brought along our wagon to pull the two girls everywhere!

Later that afternoon, after the rain had stopped, I brought both girls to Clusia Cove at Jurong Lake Gardens to play!

We were pleasantly surprised to find a water play area that looks just like a wetland and complements the surrounding trees very well.


The girls enjoyed climbing on the very realistic looking rocks and playing with the sand in the water.




The water depth was just nice for the girls but maybe a bit too shallower for taller/bigger kids.

There were many steps at the water playground, with little water fountains that the kids had fun playing with. It turns out the fountains have a very important purpose of pumping clean water into the playground. 

You see, when clean water is pumped into the playground, the dirty water travels downwards to the sandy "wetlands" and into the ground after being filtered by the sand. The water goes into an underground tank where it is purified before being released back into the playground through the mini fountains. It's a very neat little system!

Not even a short burst of rain dampened the enthusiasm of the 2 girls, who were happily sitting in the shelter and patiently waiting for the rain to stop. When the rain finally stopped, they continued playing for about 30 minutes before we headed home.

It was a fun day for the girls!

Eldest Girl's 12th Birthday at SuperPark

The Eldest Girl announced that she wanted a 'simple' birthday at SuperPark with her best friends and cousins. So the blessed birthday girl got what she wanted! 😆


I booked a package of 8, since it's cheaper and can be shared among our group of exactly 8 (7 kids plus me). The kids/teens ran off as soon as they entered the park!


The park is more suitable for older kids, though younger preschoolers can hang out at the toddler park on the upper floor or the play structure at the lower floor.


Our brood of older kids headed straight to the pedal cars. The course was very short and nothing much but was cheap thrill for all of us 😃





The kids enjoyed it very much, though a few of them got stuck in the tunnel 😅

We proceeded to the next game, which was really fun: just shoot some basketballs into the holes to earn points!


Next, we headed to the lower level where the youngest in the group, my boy, explored the play structure (the older kids completely ignored it because they were simply too big for it!).


He said it was fun but he didn't stay long. I suppose my boy has really outgrown play structures meant for younger kids (cos he's taller than average).

The flying fox on the other hand, was loved by all! It was so fun!



The tube slide looked fun but it was really slooooow! That's why other than my boy, none of us did this activity more than once. 



The kids also tried their hand at archery, which looked easier than it is. The older kids needed a lot of practice to get it right and even then, they found it hard to hit the yellow target 😆



No park will be complete without trampolines! Yippee!


The older kids were also big fans basketball and played a simple game of 3 on 3. 



My boy decided to try the obstacle course, which looked easier than it is, instead!


We also tried the climbing walls, which were a piece of cake for my eldest nephew, the oldest kid in our group.



It was my boy's first time climbing and he made it almost halfway, which isn't bad for his first try. Hopefully the next time he will try going higher 🙂

My favourite activities in SuperPark have to be the SuperPinball and SuperHoop in the Game Arena! Soooo fun! 

SuperPinball is basically trying to kick a ball into holes to score points.



SuperHoop is that same concept, but with basketballs! Super fun to play as a group!



The boy rated it the best indoor playground that he had ever been to! For a kid who has been to many indoor playgrounds, this says a lot!

The birthday girl also said she had a lot of fun! 😃


That evening, we had a birthday party at home with all her cousins.




Simple, just what she wanted 😅


Happy 12th Birthday my darling! Can't believe that she has become a teen like overnight! Too fast, too fast!!!!! Please always be my baby girl no matter your age 😃😍

Another COVID Christmas in 2021

This is the 11th year documenting my favourite season of the year! Not sure how many people will read this post but I'm still gonna document it for memory sake ☺️

Since our old 10-year-old tree has reached the end of its life, we said goodbye to it last year and bought a new tree from Mason Home Decor. I love that the leaves look so realistic! This year I also had an extra helper to help set up the tree!
  

It's like a must for me to put up Christmas decorations all around my house during the Christmas season. It really lifts your spirits and puts you in a good mood!

This year I also did my own wreath using simple materials I bought from Daiso.




With the house all decorated, we were ready to welcome guests to our home!


I also made use of Christmas as a good excuse to buy myself a Christmas gift, a Lego Mosaic of me and the hubby via the Mosaic Maker at the Sentosa Lego Store.


The kids ended up having more fun than me piecing the whole thing together! Love it so much!



December is also when we would celebrate my mum's birthday and we decided to treat her to Paul's at Tanglin Mall, one of our favourite restaurants.


Since we're out and about, we might as well take loads of pictures with the beautiful decorations by the malls! Yet another annual tradition!



We also headed to Jewel as I had some Singapore Rediscovers vouchers left and wanted to utilise them at the Manulife Sky Nets.

I really love to take pictures at Jewel! It's such a beautiful place 😊



Before heading to the nets, we had lunch at the famous Burger and Lobster. It was good but of course cannot be compared to the original Burger & Lobster that we had in London.

However, the beautiful view from the restaurant absolutely made up for it!








After lunch, we headed to the Manulife Sky Nets by going through Jewel Canopy (the Sky Nets were located within Jewel Canopy). We visited in 2019 pre-COVID so it was nice to visit again, this time all decked out in their Christmas theme.



There were 2 types of Sky Nets, Walking and Bouncing. We read reviews that the walking nets were really boring so we decided to skip that and went straight to Bouncing.

You need to book a slot and wait for your turn before you can enter as they regulate the number of people inside.



You can see the whole fountain from the highest point, which can be pretty scary for people who are afraid of heights. It's cheap thrill for the rest of us! 😂




It looks way bigger from outside though, because once inside, it was actually a very tiny area with not much to do! Our slot was 1.5 hours but we got bored after just 20 minutes! We ended up finding a nice corner and hanging out together for the rest of our time on the nets!


It was an experience but once is more than enough!

We also checked out Rainforest Lumina held at Singapore Zoo at night. It featured light displays on the empty enclosures while the animals were at the Night Safari.






It was quite cool to explore the Zoo at night! We even bought a souvenir to support our local Zoo 😊


We always take the opportunity at the end of the year to soak in the celebrations.
